MFG adds another accreditation as the business goes for growth

MFG Construction is proud to announce that its Passive Fire Protection division—launched just over six months ago—is experiencing remarkable growth and demand.

Supported by its acquisition of BM TRADA certification, this enhanced capability places MFG at the forefront of compliant, high-quality fire safety solutions across the UK.Since its launch, the Passive Fire Protection division has hit the ground running. Early projects, such as the Tipton High School in Birmingham, paved the way for expansion, with multiple successful deployments following across sectors including education, entertainment, and public buildings.

This growth has been underpinned by key investments in certification, achieving the BM TRADA accreditation—an essential benchmark for compliance and industry confidence; in systems and transparency, deploying a cradle-to-grave reporting system that offers clients real-time insight into site progress and compliance; and in talented personnel, attracting standout teammates, including Elle Baker, who swiftly secured new client commitments upon joining.

Passive Fire Protection (PFP) represents a critical pillar in building safety frameworks - which MFG has been familiar with on scores of sites for years. Unlike active systems that require activation—such as sprinklers or alarms—PFP components work continuously without user input to slow or prevent the spread of fire and smoke.Examples include fire-resistant walls and floors, fire doors, firestops, intumescent coatings, and fire compartmentation.

A robust passive fire strategy is crucial—it helps contain fire, preserve structural integrity, protect occupants, and grant valuable time for evacuation and emergency response. The achievement of the certification significantly bolsters MFG’s Passive Fire Division. This validation assures clients and stakeholders that services such as firestopping and fire door installation meet rigorous, industry-sanctioned standards.

It serves as both a badge of authority and a commitment to safety and compliance.

Adam Langan, Passive Fire Protection Manager, said:“When we launched this division six months ago, our goal was more than just offering a new service—it was about building something sustainable from day one. Securing certifications across the board, implementing our live reporting systems, and bringing the right people aboard have set the stage for delivering real value. The demand has been great—projects are coming in thick and fast, and this certification only strengthens client trust in our work.”

Stephen Price, Projects Director, added:“Our success in Passive Fire Protection reflects our broader ethos: do it right, do it once. The influx of work and the momentum we’ve built underscore the importance of the right credentials. BM TRADA certification really underlines MFG’s dedication to quality and reliability. We’re not just growing a division for the sake of it, we’re raising the standard across MFG and certifications and accreditation like this are crucial.”
