MFG Construction Appoint Matthew Pickles

MFG Construction has announced the appointment of Matthew Pickles as Head of Business Development, strengthening the business at a pivotal point in its national growth strategy. 

Matthew joins MFG from Mitie, where he most recently held the position of Head of Minor Works. He has a brief of establishing the business across the Midlands and build a team that will support our sustainable growth. 

His appointment follows a period of significant momentum for MFG, which saw the business open two new regional offices in Edinburgh and Birmingham in the final quarter of last year, underlining its clear ambition to expand its footprint across the UK. 

MFG and Mitie share a long-standing relationship, with MFG having successfully delivered scores of projects nationwide for Mitie across multiple sectors. Matthew’s move marks a natural next step in that relationship, bringing deep client-side insight and operational experience into MFG’s senior leadership team. 

Based out of MFG’s Birmingham office, Matthew brings a wealth of industry experience, having previously held roles including Production Manager and Facilities Manager before embarking on a highly successful career at Mitie. He joined Mitie initially as a Facilities Manager, progressing through the business to Regional Operations Manager and ultimately Head of Minor Works, where he led teams delivering complex, high-volume programmes across the UK. 

Matthew officially joined MFG on 5 January, and will play a key role in supporting continued growth, strengthening client relationships, and expanding MFG’s minor works and project delivery capability.
