MFG delivering first class washroom refurb in Manchester

A major washroom refurbishment project in Manchester is progressing ahead of schedule, with the team at MFG Construction already nearing completion of two floors despite being only in the second week of a six-week programme.
The project involves the complete refurbishment of toilet facilities throughout the building, including the removal of existing fittings, redecoration, installation of new flooring and the fitting of new wall panels to provide a modern, refreshed environment for building users.
Leading the project on site is a supervisor Daniel McCullock who has worked his way through the ranks at MFG over the past seven to eight years.
Starting his career as a labourer, he now manages significant refurbishment schemes, coordinating trades, overseeing progress and ensuring works are delivered safely and efficiently.
“We’re currently in week two of a six-week programme and we’ve nearly completed Levels Two and Three already, so we’re ahead of programme at the moment,” he said.
A team of five is working on site, including two painters, two flooring specialists and the site supervisor, who oversees the day-to-day operation while remaining actively involved in the project.
The refurbishment is taking place within a secure building, requiring all personnel to hold the necessary security clearances and adhere to strict access procedures.
Despite the challenges associated with working in an occupied and secure environment, the project has progressed smoothly thanks to close collaboration between the site team and the client’s management staff.
“Communication is key,” Daniel explained.
“We’re liaising regularly with managers, keeping them informed about which floors are being worked on and the timescales involved so they can plan around the refurbishment programme.”
The transformation has already had a noticeable impact, with the new flooring and finishes creating a significantly improved appearance compared to the previous facilities.
“The difference is massive,” he added.
“Everything is being completely renewed, giving the washrooms a fresh, modern look.”
The project is what MFG does day in day out across the country and highlights our ability to deliver refurbishment works within live operational environments while maintaining programme targets, quality standards and strong client communication throughout the construction process.
Stephen Price, Projects Director at MFG Construction, said: “Credit to Daniel and the team at MFG. This looks and is a straightforward job for us and one we’ve done countless times for big name brands over the years. But each and every one of them matter and this one in Manchester is no different. It's important to the client, their staff and to us. It’s an office that delivers extremely important work and they want facilities that are first class. That’s the gap we fill.”
