MFG Passive Fire delivers another fire compliance job

MFG Construction's Passive Fire Protection division has successfully completed a comprehensive fire door remedial programme at a manufacturing facility in Rochdale.

The specialist team completed remedial works to 52 fire doors across the facility over a six-week period from December 2025 to January 2026.

The project involved bringing non-compliant fire doors up to current regulatory standards, including the replacement of hinges, installation of intumescent smoke seals, adjustment of door gaps, and fitting of fire-rated door closers.

"This was a complex project that required careful coordination within a working manufacturing environment," said Adam Langan, Technical Fire Safety Manager for MFG Construction’s Passive Fire Protection Division.

"Our team worked systematically through the facility, completing detailed remedial works while maintaining full documentation and photographic evidence for each door."

The project presented several technical challenges, including doors with incorrect gaps, damaged seals, and dropped hinges. Several doors were identified as being beyond economic repair, with the team providing clear recommendations for complete door set replacements.

Throughout the works, the MFG team identified additional compliance issues that had been missed in the original inspection report, demonstrating the value of working with experienced fire safety specialists.

The client expressed satisfaction with the thoroughness and professionalism demonstrated throughout the project and has confirmed they will be using MFG Construction's Passive Fire Protection division for future compliance works.
