Successful Completion: Belfast Car Park Transformation for Mitie

MFG Construction is pleased to announce the successful early completion of a full car park resurfacing and infrastructure upgrade in Belfast for our client Mitie.

 Delivered ahead of programme, the project involved a meticulous overhaul of the external site, enhancing usability, drainage, security, and long-term durability — all completed safely and to the highest standard.

Led by our Project Manager, Nick Duff, we carried out a phased programme of works including trenching and ducting, drainage installation, new lighting infrastructure, and the integration of heavy-duty automated security gates.

 Following completion of the groundwork, the entire car park was resurfaced using 64 tonnes of hot rolled asphalt, embedded with chippings for added resilience.

The final phase included full re-lining to the client's bespoke layout, optimising traffic flow and maximising space efficiency.

“From drainage to ducting and security systems, it was a technical project executed with precision, ahead of schedule and to the highest safety standards.”

One of the key improvements was the removal of outdated kerbed islands, enabling additional parking spaces to meet the client’s requirements. The scope also included over 400 metres of new ACO drainage, 12 gully lids, and a suite of manhole and chamber installations — all contributing to a robust, future-ready external environment.

To enhance security, MFG installed a new automated swing gate, pedestrian gate, and fully integrated access control, intercom, and safety systems, providing seamless and secure access for all users.
