Project Highlights

  • Emergency restoration of hot water supply

  • Emergency Response – Rapid diagnosis and mobilisation when a building service fails

  • Technical Competence – Correct specification and installation of pressure control equipment

  • Systems Understanding – Ability to assess interconnected building services and flag future issues

  • Transparent Communication – Clear advice on current status and future maintenance requirements

The Challenge

A critical failure of the mains gas boiler pressure reducing valve left Wynex Global’s St John’s Court facility without hot water. The valve had been previously isolated following initial fault diagnosis, leaving the property non-operational.

The brief was straightforward but time-sensitive: isolate the faulty component, install a replacement system, and restore full functionality to the hot water supply serving the building.

Our Solution

Our team attended site and immediately diagnosed the issue. The original pressure reducing valve had been removed and the cold main isolated.

We installed a new 15mm pressure reducing valve, filled the system and carried out full pressure testing. The valve was left operating at the correct specification, with water routed to the kitchenette area as designed.

The heating system was brought back online and tested until water reached full operating temperature.

Project Highlights

• Diagnosis and isolation of faulty pressure reducing valve

• Supply and installation of new 15mm pressure reducing valve

• Full system pressure testing and verification

• Hot water system restored to full operation

• Condition assessment of connected heating appliances

This is what responsive facilities management looks like at MFG Facilities Management. No delays and no complications. We mobilised experienced engineers at a moments notice, a team that understands the criticality of core building services. No hot water may seem trivial, but it’s critical for this business.

Our team was in and out efficiently, but not at the cost of doing the job properly. Every test was run. Every connection was checked. The building moved from non-operational to fully functional in no time at all.

The Results

Hot water has been restored throughout the facility. The system is operating at the correct pressure and temperature.

During final testing, we noted that the water heater may require future replacement due to internal breakdown (indicated by occasional discolouration in the initial fill). We’ve flagged this with the client for planned maintenance.

This is how preventative facilities management works in our division – we fix the immediate problem and identify the next one before it becomes one.

The MFG Construction Effect

This project demonstrates MFG Construction’s core strength: delivering critical facilities services under pressure, with precision and transparency.

What we said:

“Facilities management is about more than fixing the immediate problem. It’s about understanding what failed, why it failed, and what’s likely to fail next. Our team did all three on this job. Wynex Global now has a functioning hot water system and a clear picture of their heating infrastructure. That’s the standard we aim for on every job. These are small jobs but important ones that can stop a business in its tracks.”
