Project Overview
Mitie required the full refurbishment of its external car park — not just to improve its condition, but to modernise the site with updated drainage infrastructure, enhanced layout, and advanced security features. Working on behalf of Mitie, MFG’s European arm of its business, with support from ASL and EJC, the team delivered a technically complex resurfacing and gate installation project without disruption or delay.
The result is a fully transformed car park that now supports better functionality, improved security, and greater capacity — delivered safely, efficiently, and on programme.
Full scope of work
Full car park resurfacing using 64 tonnes of hot rolled asphalt and embedded chippings
Installation of drainage infrastructure
400m of ACO drains
12 gully lids and manholes
6 heavy-duty manhole covers and chambers
Installation of 6 new street lighting columns and ducting (300mm and 50mm)
Security upgrade with new automated swing gates, pedestrian gate, pillar feeder box and full access control system
Removal of block-paved kerbed islands to maximise parking space
Line marking to client design after surfacing completion

Mechanical installation of heavy-duty security gates using lifting equipment
Geo-tagged ducting works including 900m of 50mm ducting and 40m of 300mm ducting
Integrated access control including intercom and safety sensors
High-spec surfacing process involving scarification, sweeping, tack coat application and embedded chip layer
No safety incidents or delays throughout the programme
Optimised layout with additional car parking bays created for the client
